Proudly recognised amongst the UK's top bespoke bike builders, ASE Custom motorcycles was founded by Andy Steward. "Since I can remember, I was brought up playing with cars and bikes, taking any opportunity to indulge my passion of tinkering, maintain and improving them"
After qualifying with a degree in Motorsport Engineering & Design, Andy performed several engineering design and project management roles over an 11 year period for prestigious automotive brands such as Jaguar Landrover & Aston Martin based in the West Midlands, UK.
After a little break from the "day job" to travel and work overseas he decided to take a leap of faith and become self-employed, setting up a bike building and customising business based in the West Midlands, UK– ASE Custom motorcycles. "Combining my design & engineering experience, extensive automotive knowledge and practical hands-on approach I felt this put me in a strong position to provide a start to finish service to my customers. I have set up my workshop facilities to capitalise on this; providing design, engineering, rapid prototyping, building, fabrication and restoration services in-house. Today we continue to work with motorcycle manufacturers and OEMs delivering prototype builds, provide product development services and show bike builds alongside producing dream rides for our very special private clients."
In a niche, and ever-changing market, we proudly operate as a small dynamic company, always evolving and continually improving our facilities and service, investing to provide a first class service to our very special clients.
As well as building bikes, Andy is a keen musician playing guitar (some of which he has built himself) and the drums in several bands over the years and loves to ride anything with 2 wheels, from track riding to dirt riding and even mountain biking. Further afield he has been fortunate enough to have competed in some of the worlds toughest extreme enduro motorcycle events overseas such as Redbull Romaniacs and The Nutbuster Hard Enduro in New Zealand.
Always keen for adventure, Andy uses every opportunity to continue his travels extensively on two and 4 wheels both on and off road through exciting collaborations and projects. The physical, mental and mechanical preparation required to succeed in these endeavours transfers directly to designing, creating and building and running exciting hand crafted custom motorcycles with the attention to detail that draws on this wealth of experience of bike building and preparation.

We love riding bikes as much as building them and sometimes we are allowed out of the workshop on good behaviour. Here was a great opportunity to go and ride Adventure bikes around the mega Sweet Lamb Adventure Rally bike Academy over in Mid Wales whilst playing a cameo role in one of KTM's official marketing videos - (eyes peeled for the white Shoei helmet).
Sit back and enjoy some epic views and some heroic riding from Mr Birch - Time to get inspired for your next adventure!
